TxWorld gets the usual fare of questions related to site
content, not quite so many for copywriting which is often
overlooked. What is so important about these topics and how
is it related to your website? Let's see...

Consider the two "sample" websites A and B summarized
above. Both sample pages would constitute an "About Us" page
and a human visitor to the website can logically conclude
that the page is about a dental practice and the primary
dentist. Search engines visiting the site will not be able
to draw the same conclusions.
How a search engine evaluates the website content
Read the content for website A and B. The example is over
simplified to get a point across -- you as a human reader
can easily tell the difference between the pages and could
probably guess how a search engine might "rank" or "weight"
the pages with website A coming out the clear winner. But
you would be surprised at the number of prospects that still
expect example website B to get a high rank in a search
engine.
Let's deconstruct the content of Website A to
understand some of the basic search engine concepts
related to content and copywriting:
- The Name of
the page (http://www.yoursite.com/plano-dentist.html)
is one of the flags that tells a search engine "hey,
this is what I am about"; it contains two keywords,
Plano and
Dentist.
- The Title of
the page contains more clues for the search engines
with the kewords DDS,
Dentist,
Plano and
TX.
- Heading
tags, such as h1, denote relative importance in
hierarchical form. In the example the h1 tag
contains DDS,
Plano and
TX which are all
keywords that a user might type into a search
engine.
- The content uses several keywords related to
dentistry, woven into content that is very easy for
a person to read as well as very effective at
relaying information to a search engine.
Dental is mentioned
4 times; dentistry
2 times; several related phrases such as "dental
care", "restorative"
and "cosmetic" are also
used.

Google, MSN, Yahoo and all of the other
search engines have one primary goal: to return search
results to end users that are relevant. |
Each search engine has spiders (automated programs)
that will read or "crawl" through a website to index the
content, as well as to gain a perspective on what the
meaning of the content taken as a whole is. Attempts to
trick, over engineer, or influence the search engine
through "black hat" methods will eventually get the
website banned. Suffice it to say that repeating the
words "Plano Dentist" on a webpage 1000 times not only
doesn't work (anymore) but can produce very negative
results. Don't try it.
Okay - what is the right way to create content?
TxWorld SEO
professionals are not sorcerers and rarely practice
voodoo to get high rankings in search engines. Our approach
is to take your message, brochures and copywriting and
combine it with our knowledge and research. The resultant
content along with specific use of meta tags, titles,
headings, formatting, commenting, image labeling and many
other factors too numerous to mention form website pages
that index well in search engines.
It sounds like I can create website content by
myself
Surprisingly, you can perform search engine
optimization and create your own copywriting. It
takes common sense, the ability to research what people
are searching for and a fairly decent grasp of grammar.
There are scores of websites geared towards the
do-it-yourself crowd and with some time and
experimentation the results are likely to be pretty
decent.
Here is a link to help you get started.
If you choose to generate your own content, perform
your copywriting and all the research that goes with it
then you should also have some realistic goals about how
long it will take. Expect to spend a significant amount
of time learning how to do it and at the very least 6
months to a year before you achieve your targets.
TxWorld Content and Copywriting Services
Get the search engine results that you want sooner
rather than later. Leverage the expertise and innovation
that we have developed through years of experimentation,
training and perseverance.
Our SEO consultants have achieved results that
larger more sophisticated vendors have not been able to
produce (and at a lower cost too!). One of our
most recent
website projects took only two weeks to get #1
ranking for its keywords in Google. Organically - that's
unheard of!
Each project that we take on includes a full evaluation
of your market, the common keywords
for that market, and a comparison of those results with materials that we
obtain from you. Our SEO experts combine this insight and
research with your content to create relevant web pages that
are not only interesting and informative for a human reader
but are also search engine ready. The same principles and
techniques are applied to new websites and existing ones
alike.
Here are some things you should know about working
with TxWorld for copywriting and search engine
optimization:

You provide basic keywords; we recommend
the best ones
-
You provide basic content; we have to
have a starting point
-
You pursue off site link exchanges;
TxWorld will recommend sites for linking
-
TxWorld plans content for new websites
from the start and is part of our estimate
-
TxWorld
performs all editing of content for existing sites
- no exceptions - we

lack of control over tags, links, comments and other
elements
